Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu where Chinese President Xi and Indian Prime Minister Modi's informal meeting took place, had been a trade centre and a harbour from ancient times. Mahabalipuram contains many sculptures of Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva and Mahishaswara Mardini. This denotes that there has been division amid people which had assisted in trade. Modi has been reflecting himself as a representative of the Indian culture ( RSS ). Whereas People's Republic of China ( PRC) is an atheist state which had annexed Tibet in 1950, as Mao Zedong strongly believed, culture was an obstacle to development. People's Republic of China has been developing harbours in Sri Lanka by acquiring them where it had taken advantage of Buddhist traditions, this is in contrast to PRC's annexation of Tibet. As BJP has been using the cultural tool to obtain it's political objectives the same is seen in the case of China. As a political analyst my opinion on this meeting of these leaders is that Sri Lanka's civil war was a harbour based conflict in the north which was initiated by Smt.Indira Gandhi , who was the former Prime Minister of India. The civil war had come to an end in 2009 (which was only on land ) the meeting of President Xi and Prime Minister Modi this month had put an end also to the civil war's naval residues. This shows that China is trying to build it's Empire at sea for developing it's trade.
